I am so glad that you've found our first ever official blog post for our women's ministry (on this new-ish website) - To Be Known. What is To Be Known anyway? Friend, I thought you'd never ask.

Before I dive into all that, let me tell you the story of how To Be Known Ministries came to be. It all started in 2022 when a few of my friends and I were planning a girls’ weekend in Nashville. None of us had ever been, and I was SO excited to finally experience all the city had to offer. But as we started talking more about it, I began feeling that God wasn’t actually wanting us to go there. It was a strange feeling, and I couldn’t shake it. Finally, I asked Him—"What do You want from us, God?"

Anyone who has followed God for a minute knows that asking God what he wants from you can be scary.

But God didn’t make me wait long. He asked me if I would talk to the ladies I was traveling with and suggest that we turn our "girls weekend" into a "God weekend" instead. He was very specific about what He wanted us to do. While I was nervous about how my friends would react, to my surprise, they were all in! Before we knew it, we had planned a small, intimate weekend retreat in Deale, Maryland, focused on the theme “TO BE KNOWN”. It was all about knowing God more deeply and understanding who we are in Him.

Fast forward to today, and we’re still following God’s plan for us. What started as a gathering of 12 women has now blossomed into a vibrant ministry that serves hundreds of women in Southern Maryland and beyond!

At To Be Known, we believe in the power of authentic community. As our website says, real community happens when we spend time together, building intentional relationships. We offer various opportunities for women to get involved—whether it’s through Bible studies, events, serving, or daily devotionals. We’re committed to creating a community where spiritual growth happens, and we believe God will use that community to impact those around us—whether they already know Him or are still exploring their faith.
